Apollo T-Shirt? Yes Please.

Aside from being a UI designer, I ocassionally partake in the textile arts (aka screenprinting). I’ve got a 4 color screen printer in the garage, so I thought I’d make an Apollo tshirt. I’ve got the front down (simple). But what should the back say? Hmmmm…
Maybe:
apollo. browser? what browser?
we don’t need no stinkin’ browser.
your/the desktop will never be the same.
get your cursors ready.
get apollo.
design, code, deploy. anywhere.
Those were the first that came to mind. I’m waiting for a blank screen to get here, so I’ve got time to figure it out.
UPDATE: It appears “The web is not enough…” posted by Stefan le Roux and “Desktop 2.0″ posted by Faisal Abid are in the lead with 2 votes each.
I’m going to leave the voting open until Friday the 9th, so it isn’t too late to put your 2 cents in or vote for your favorite.
Also, the winner will get a free shirt (thanks for the suggestion Brent) in dark grey or red.

These are all great ideas! Now, it’s going to be even harder to decide what to put on the back.
I thought of another one:
Yes, those are flames
Or maybe on the back it could be the cursor arrow like it’s landed with tripod legs. Kind of along the lines of tbm’s (mike?) comment and a date.
Hmmm… I’ve got a lot to ponder.

My vote is for: Desktop 2.0

This is great stuff Juan! I dig.

How about, “The product name that should have been”?
Seeing as Apollo’s not going to be called Apollo when it’s released… Maybe all the shirts that say Apollo will become collector’s items. Make a limited run, wait a year, and sell them all on ebay!
March 6th, 2007 at 10:38 am
Doug,
That’s why I just put the icon on the front and no “Apollo”. So, I think on the back there probably shouldn’t be mention of the name apollo? But, more of a clever statement as to what “Apollo” is/does.
Since I only have a modest setup (one man, 4 color screen printer) it probably will be a limited run.
As far as selling them, can I? Or will that be some kind of copyright infringement? Any lawyers out there?
I think I need to set up some kind of voting for this post. I’ll look into it.

It’s a pity that they changed the name from “Apollo” to AIR. I mean, AIR is still pretty cool (and a nice play on words for RIA) but I still like Apollo. It’s not like the application’s name MUST tell you what it is (I imagine that it probably does make more marketing and business sense, but there is also a way of marketing it with an interesting name that also works.) There’s probably no hard and fast rule – either way would have worked perfectly for marketing needs. I still think Apollo was a wonderful name though.
