Show File Path in OSX Window

Inspired by Ted Patrick’s OSX tip I thought I’d share one that I find particularly handy. By holding down the command key and clicking on a window’s title you can display the file path of an open document or finder window. When you select and release on an item in the displayed path it will open the selected location. This is something you were able to do in OS9 and it carried over to OSX. I use it all the time.

What a great tip!! Wonderful! I will never wonder again where a file is in the file system while viewing it. If you have a lot of programs open sometimes you really dont know what you are viewing…
Thanks!

Also, you can click-drag the filename/icon from the title-bar to an open terminal window, where it will write the full path for you. (Works the same for dragging files and folders to the terminal window)

Creacog : I’ve used the drag a file/folder into the terminal window before, but never tried dragging it from the title bar. Thanks for the tip!
